  • Two component product based on Polyvinyl Butyrate Resin and other rust inhibitive ingredients with a suitable Organic Acid Catalyst
  • The product is especially suitable for non ferrous surfaces that are clear composition on modified Polyvinyl Butyrate Resin to form a two component product cured with an appropriate catalyst
  • It accepts both two pack and single pack top coats with good adhesion
  • Can be used as a specification primer as per BS5493 and meets the performance of AP2A.

Coverage:

  1. The theoretical coverage of VITON ETCH PRIMER 2K would be approximately 10 – 12 M²/liter per coat at a Dry film thickness of 10 – 15 micron per coat

  1. humid conditions >95% and also dew point of <3% for application
  2. The expected life span is directly related to the surface cleanliness and proper application.
    1. It is therefore mandatory to remove the grease, oil, wax by solvent cleaning
  3. It is a 2 component product and has to be mixed thoroughly individually before it is mixed together for uniformity
  4. Number of coats: Normally one coat not more than 8 microns in any case

  1. Conventional Spray: It is the most recommended method of application Use standard equipment and a pressure of 2.8-3.0 kg/ cm2 (40-45 psi)
  2. Brush or Roller: This method may be adopted for substrates with difficult shapes or touchup; however care must be taken not to exceed the recommended film thickness and ensure that an even film is applied
  3. Air less spray: For larger areas it is the best recommended method of application but great care must be taken to ensure the recommended film thickness are not exceeded. Use a tip with a wide fan width. Tip Size : 0.22 – 0.30 mm (0.009 – 0.011 in) Pressure: 90 – 130 Kg/cm2 (1300-1800 psi)

Caution:*Not suitable for perpetual wet conditions. The product is extremely sensitive to moisture; dry heat resistance is 70°c. 

Thinning recommendation:

  1. VITON STANDARD THINNER and to the extent of maximum of 10% of the paint by volume.
  2. Stir well with a convenient mixing equipment for uniformity to ensure good mixing of all the components.
